ANTHRAX's SCOTT IAN: New Album Is Sonically Crushing!

June 3, 2002

ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has posted the following update via www.anthraxtheband.com about the group's upcoming album, We've Come For You All, and the recently-resurrected Rock Show on VH1, which Ian had previously regularly hosted:

"Scrap 60 [Productions] started mixing the [new] record. They started with 'Refuse To Be Denied', which I believe will be the opening track on the record. I'm so excited to hear this thing mixed. I got to hear a bunch of stuff when I was in NY a couple of weeks ago to do my back-up vocals. The record is really exciting. Sonically crushing. We've really taken it to the next level. I get all prickly when I hear it. Sooo much energy.

"I'm hoping to have all kinds of info for you in the next few weeks about the first single, the release date (first week of October?),and tour plans (all kinds of things in the works). Stay tuned. One thing I can tell you is that Alex Ross is doing the album cover. Who is Alex Ross, you ask? Only the best artist working in comics period. Check out 'Marvels', 'Kingdom Come', and his website at alexrossart.com. I saw a rough of the cover and it looks great. It's epic.

"I've got loads of questions about Rock Show. Here's what I know: Some new head of programming decided to pull the show and put on Sebastian [Bach]. That lasted 13 shows. New head of programming gone. Rock Show comes back on with no host. Then with guest hosts. I got called to do it but was busy with the record. I was stoked that the show was back and was going to guest host a bunch of shows until they decided what they were going to do with it. Now there's another new head of programming and the show is in limbo again. Host? No host? Who knows. It's a bummer that it takes so much crap just to have one hour of rock/metal programming. I would certainly like to have the show back. And, have more input on what the show is creatively. Let's see what happens."
